Reimagining illustrations from my childhood. This is Sewer Rat š
This is my finale piece and is going to be a long one so buckle up. When I was very young I came up with this whole family of Superheroes. Bionic Plumber was the dad, an overweight Plumber by day and vigilante by night. He was dim-witted but good-hearted and unsuspectingly good at crime fighting. He has two children that were in high school. The oldest son, Plunger Boy took the vigilante business way too seriously and only focused on that. The youngest daughter never wanted to be a part of it, but got dragged into it anyway. She wanted to be a regular girl at school; popular and a cheerleader. Theyāre āhomemadeā superheroes without tons of money or fancy gear. One night while being dragged to do surveillance in the sewers, she fell into rat-infested toxic waste and grew rat ears, a tail, and rat-like powers. Plunger Boy was very jealous because she was the only one with superpowers and she didnāt even want to be a hero. Meanwhile, she was horrified. She had to manage her high school persona while trying to hide her tail and ears in public which would jeopardizing her perfect image.
I could only find old drawings of Sewer Rat & Plunger Boy though but I only did her for the challenge because I donāt know how to tackle that plunger on his head yet. I changed her color scheme too. I have no idea why I picked yellow for Sewer Rat. I started drawing the Bionic Plumber family in 6th grade. My dad and I would come up with bionic plumber stories A LOT on the drive home all through middle school. It was always intended to be silly. These drawings were from the ages of 12-15. I couldnāt find older drawings. This has been so fun to revisit!
If youāve read any of these silly backstories that I created for these characters as a kid, then I thank you for humoring me š
